The third Conference of the Company’s suppliers and contractors was held on 8 November 2019.

Over 300 managers from leading manufacturers and contractors participated in the conference. The attendees included both current and potential contractors. Discussions focused on the key elements of Polyus’ strategy, its global competitive advantages, potential new projects, including Sukhoi Log, as a long-term foundation for the Company’s development. An update was made on the results of the Mediation Board’s work with bidders and guidelines developed by the Board to improve, among other things, the transparency of the overall procurement process starting from the appearance of demand and compiling the RFP, ending with the approval of the bidding procedure results. Special focus was made on the plans for technical modernization of Procurement.

The speakers included representatives from Polyus divisions. A presentation was made by Siemens delegates on the future of the mining industry, and Renaissance Heavy Industries reported on the EPC-approach in the roll out of mining industry projects. Discussion sessions were arranged first to cover topical procurement issues: the role of Procurement in innovations and supplier and contractor performance management.


The second Conference of the Company’s suppliers and contractors was held on 20 April 2018.

The conference was mainly focused on an open dialogue with the market, which took a quantum leap in 2016, and demonstrated the intention to enhance the dialogue. In addition to long-standing partners and potential contractors, many new Polyus partners were among the more than 350 participants at the event. Direct dialogue made it possible for the participants to ask questions directly to the management and receive answers on the Company’s present state, the vision of current challenges as well as short- and long-term plans including as part of cooperation with contractors. The speakers included representatives from different divisions across Polyus and delegates from the following companies: RTS-tender, Vostok-Service, Michelin. Round tables were organized first to discuss topical import substitution issues for check valves and freight road transport.


In order to develop a direct dialogue with the market, the first Conference of the Company’s suppliers and contractors was held on 21 November 2016.

The conference was attended by over 300 representatives from the Company’s current and potential contractors, MC Polyus management, representatives from Polyus mining and service companies. The discussions focused on Polyus’ Strategy development, its approaches to organizing bidding procedures, promising trends for cooperation as well establishment of the Mediation Board to interact with bidders. The speakers included representatives from different divisions across Polyus and delegates from the following companies: Outotec, Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, Komatsu in cooperation with Sumitec, EVRAZ Holding. The reports by these companies covered the following topical issues: advanced technologies and equipment for gold processing, trends in the mining fleet global market as well as new realities in the steel industry.
